Literature Text

            Floater

      Under an evening sky
      I watched you float away.
      Taking with you the sun
and throwing stars in your wake.

Take me with you over the horizon
      beyond this endless night.
Show me clouds as they part,
      fleeing before our flight.

     We watch colors be born
     and nurse off vivid trees.
     Bounding us over land,
     seeing life is appeased.

     Looking to the side
     I saw you smile
     Grant me your heart
     to beat away this lie.

     With tears in your eyes
     you let go my hand,
giving me only a few moments
     and leaving me to stand.

     Alone in the cold below
     my feet, smiling no more.
     Resting in sweet disallusion,
     my brain bursts in storm.

     I tore at your body
     as you floated away.
     Molding with blue
     in our bed, your grave.

     Over the cryptic hills
     I watched you go.
     Trying to catch up,
     I cry, too slow.

     The mountains scrape my knees
and the wind begins to rain.
     Living in this nightmare
     without you is perfect pain.

     You kept me alive
     with talks of romance.
     Forgetting all the hurt,
     we charished this dance.

     I love'd you dearly
     with all my will.
     Wanting me in your arms
     with tender loving skill.

     Under an evening sky
     I smiled at your memory.
     Taking with you the stars
and giving the world to me.
I wrote this poem while at work.
I believe almost everyone has expirienced this type of emotion. If you haven't, then I would advise it.

To love someone completely and have them either perish or walk away; you still have memories. Strong memories that will you to live in peace. I have such memories, do you?

Very good. I have felt this feeling a few times myself. I like the first stanza of your poem. Your words send bittersweet images into my mind. Very good. Thank you for sharing your Poem.
